Pharmacological Effects
1.Tea polyphenols have the functions of anti-oxidation and scavenging free radicals.it can Significantly reduce the serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol content of hyperlipidemia, while having the role of restoring and protecting vascular endothelial function. The lipid-lowering effect of tea polyphenols is also one of the main reasons that tea can make obese people lose weight without rebound.
2.Tea polyphenols have been widely used in the food industry as a natural antioxidant.
Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the most effective antioxidant polyphenol in green tea, with antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-mutation activities. The antioxidant activity is at least more than 100 times that of vitamin C and 25 times that of vitamin E. It can protect cells and DNA from damage.
