G FINE is a new generation supplementary cementitious material (SCM) with a built-in high tech content. In spite of its high fineness it does not increase water demand at the dosage range of 5 to 15 percent of normal OPC in general. In fact concrete slump is seen to be improved, due to the dense packing of cementitious material, producing low void content. The use of G FINE results in hydrated cement matrix to comprise of very small pores.

G FINE is a specially processed product based on high glass content with high reactivity obtained through the process of controlled granulation. The raw materials are composed primary of low calcium silicates. The processing with other select ingredients results in controlled particle size distribution. G FINE can also be used as a high range water reducer to improve compressive strength or as a super workability aid to improve flow.

G FINE can be used as practical substitute for Silica Fume as per the results obtained. If the advantages of G FINE are observed in the concrete mix design, the initial rate of strength development was found to be increased or similar as that of Silica Fume.

White Portland Clinker or White Ordinary Portland Clinker is resembling Ordinary Gray Portland Cement in all features except for its high grade of whiteness.
In white cement, the index of whiteness is a very significant parameter to be controlled. Nevertheless, white cement encompasses a very low volume of iron because it diminishes the whiteness, which infers negligible content of C4AF. Therefore, white clinker encompasses three major ingredients: Alite as C3S, Belite as C2S, and Celite as C3A. Unlike Gray Cement Clinker, the White Clinker does not contain Felite or Tetracalcium Aluminoferrite as C3AF which is the only dark-colored phase. Gaining this white color needs considerable alteration to the method of production, therefore, White Clinker is to some extent more expensive than the gray product.

Crown Portland Composite Cement is CEM-II/A-M which is a cement consisting of Clinker, Gypsum, Pulverized Fuel Ash (PFA), Blast Furnance Slag and Limestone designated by the specifications of BDS EN 197-1: 2003; CEM -II/A-M (V-S-L), 42.5 N. PCC is the most suitable cement for constructions in Bangladesh. CEM â?? II /A-M contains 80-94% Clinker, which is substantially higher than CEM â?? II/B-M containing 65 â?? 79% Clinker that provide us extra advantage in strength development and increase concrete performance.

Both slag & fly ash (PFA) are used in PCC. Percentage of SiO2 in PFA is higher than slag which is advantageous to gain more long-term strength and ensure durable concrete. This type of cement is used for large constructions all around the world and it has been used during the last few decades.

The hydration process of normal cement produces Calcium Silicate Hydrate CHS & Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2. Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2 does not contribute to gain strength and it is the weak part of reaction which is not suitable for concrete. Since PFA contains higher portion of reactive silica and slag contains alumina, it helps to convert Ca(OH)2 into CSH to gain further strength.

Microsilica (silica fume) is a by-product from silicon metal or ferrosilicon industries, is an amorphous silicon dioxide SiO2. This product reacts chemically with the calcium hydroxide in the cement paste which yields a calcium silicate hydrate gel that significantly enhances strength and durability. Clinker consists of various calcium silicates including alite and belite. Tricalcium aluminate and calcium aluminoferrite are other common components. These components are often generated in situ by heating various clays and limestone.

Portland cement clinker is made by heating a homogeneous mixture of raw materials in a rotary kiln at high temperature. The products of the chemical reaction aggregate together at their sintering temperature, about 1,450 C (2,640 F). Aluminum oxide and iron oxide are present only as a flux to reduce the sintering temperature and contribute little to the cement strength. For special cements, such as low heat (LH) and sulfate resistant (SR) types, it is necessary to limit the amount of tricalcium aluminate formed.

The major raw material for the clinker-making is usually limestone mixed with a second material containing clay as source of alumino-silicate. Normally, an impure limestone which contains clay or silicon dioxide (SiO2) is used.

The calcium carbonate (CaCO3) content of these limestones can be as low as 80%. Second raw materials (materials in the rawmix other than limestone) depend on the purity of the limestone. Some of the second raw materials used are: clay, shale, sand, iron ore, bauxite, fly ash and slag. The clinker surface and its reactions in different electrolytic solutions are investigated by scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscopy.
