Introduction To The Best Black Tea in India India is the largest producer and consumer of black tea in the world. All four varieties of tea (green, black, oolong, and white tea) come from the same evergreen plant named Camellia Sinensis. The differences among tea varieties result from the way tea manufacturers process the leaves. What is Black Tea? The best Black tea is a fully oxidized tea, unlike green tea which is not oxidized. The processing of this tea involves the additional step of aeration, followed by the withering of leaves for several hours to oxidize the flavonoids. This darkens the color of leaves from green to dark brownish â?? and also gives a distinctive flavor. If you like the flavor of black tea, you can consume it in a variety of ways. In India, people normally add milk and sugar, as well as herbs such as ginger, mulethi, tulsi (holy basil), cinnamon, cardamom, lemongrass, etc to get the best black tea flavor. Why Do People Drink It? Tea is the second most widely consumed beverage in the world after water. And among all tea varieties, black tea is the most widely consumed. Most people drink it (usually hot) for taste, alertness, and energy. Best Black tea contains caffeine and theophylline, both of which can speed up your heart rate and make you feel more alert. There is good scientific evidence to show that drinking tea is good for health. It not only lowers blood pressure but also increases your immunity and protects the heart, helping prevent obesity and tooth decay (among other things).

Orange Pekoe (OPA) OPA Tea, The Orange Pekoe-A Tea in full, is a fine grade of tea which consists of slightly larger leaves, compared to other Orange Pekoe varieties like OP and OP1. OPA is the Ceylon black tea grade that has the boldest, large size leaves in appearance. Made of long bold and slightly twisted tea leaves. Once brewed, these teas have a rich aromatic forest-like scent and the lighter liquor generally has a light golden reddish color and a delicate lighter taste. This tea takes slightly longer time to brew compared to other teas, but has unique taste compared to other smaller grades.
Pekoe Tea The Pekoe Tea offered by us here is a fine grade of Black tea. This grade is made of young tender tea leaves and buds, which were processed to appear shorter, curly and not much wiry. As the tea leaves are heavily twisted and rolled during the traditional black tea manufacturing process, this is the grade that gets the appearance of black peppercorns. Once brewed, this tea has a rich aromatic forest-like (woodish) scent and the liquor generally has a light golden reddish color and a delicate taste. We have 2 variations of this grade as loose leaf tea, Pekoe (slightly bold looking) and Pekoe-1(shotty, smaller variety of the Pekoe), if you prefer one of these, please notify us when you order. Mostly we send out Pekoe-1 by default.
Orange Pekoe (OP) OP Tea, which is Orange Pekoe Tea in full, is a grade of tea that has larger leaves compared to other Ceylon black tea grades. It is made of less wiry, but well twisted larger tea leaf. OP tea has a forest-like scent. The liquor generally has a light golden reddish color with a delicate lighter taste. Mostly it is preferred by tasters who prefer a lighter liquor. This tea takes slightly longer time to brew compared to other teas due it is leafiness. OP tea also has two other varieties named OP1 and OPA. The largest variety is Ceylon OPA Tea. The thinner and wiry variation is Ceylon OP1 Tea.
Broken Mix (BM) Mixed flaky leaf tea. Can have more fiber and stalk than BOP 1A. BM tea only picks the finest quality blend obtained by Ceylon high grown teas, delivering the ideal color, taste and aroma. It contains tea leaves which are known to have the properties to stimulate the mind gently whilst simultaneously relaxing the body. It gives you self-confidence, because it projects you as a discerning person with all the signs of inner vitality.
Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings One FF1 Tea is the short name for the Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings Tea 1 which is also known as Ceylon FBOPF1 Tea. FBOPF1 is highly sought after by Ceylon Black tea enthusiasts for it is full body flavor. It is manufactured with young tender tea buds and tips. This tea has slightly larger particles compared to the BOP tea. Also it has short slightly wiry, smaller broken leaf particles, which rarely consists of few silvery tips too. This tea can be quickly brewed and has a woody scent. The liquor generally has a dark reddish color and tastes a mellow caramel flavor. This is an ideal grade of Ceylon tea for those who prefer a flavory full bodied cup of tea. Also this is an ideal grade to drink with milk.
