The tea estate derived its name from two words Aam which means Mango and Guri means roots of the mango tree. It is said that there were many mango trees in the area. The tea garden is located on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra and borders of Nagaland. This tea estate, and the garden is considered a jewel in the crown. Our Black tea is a true tea that comes from the Camellia sinensis plant. The tea leaves are allowed to fully oxidize before being traditionally processed and dried, which makes the leaves dark brown and gives the tea its signature flavor profile. Black teas tend to be bold and brisk, often described as astringent.
