Description Two components, air drying, high build Epoxy primer. The product has the advantage of epoxy resin composition with specialty pigments, which facilitates one-coat, high build application for high performance. The product can be applied on minimum prepared surface and is designed to be completely wet and provide maximum intimacy with the substrate. Excellent adhesion is obtained on a variety of intact surfaces including over old coating and tightly adherent rust. With the high solids and less solvent content of the coating the risk of lifting, blistering, pin holing is reduced, and thus the risk of adhesion failure is minimized. Recommended Use :- It is recommended for steel structures in industrial plants, bridges, tank exteriors, oil tanks, pipes, marine atmosphere, cooling towers, etc. It has good resistance to spillage and fumes of acids, alkalis, fresh and salt water. Recommended as a primer on suitably cleaned mild steel surface in various Fertilizer units, Refineries, Chemical and other plants, Transportation industries, steel plants, cement plants, power plants, pulp and paper industries, pharmaceutical industries, etc. for application on tank exteriors, structural steel, pipelines, machineries, vessels, etc. Physical Data COLOUR : Selected Industrial shades FINISH : Matt SOLIDS BY VOLUME : 63 + 3% THEORETICAL SPREADING RATE : 8.4 sq.mt / lt at a recommended DFT of 75 FLASH POINT : Base : Above 25C Hardener : Above 25C DRYING CHARACTERISTICS (At 30C & 65% Relative Humidity) : HARD DRY : 16 - 18 hours FULL CURE : 7 days SHELF LIFE : Base: 6 months Hardener: 6 months Surface Preparation Abrasive blasting to Sa 21/2 Swedish Standards is the best method of surface preparation. In case blasting is not possible than manual cleaning by mechanical methods like wire brush, emery paper, hand / power tools, etc. to achieve St-2 / St-3 cleaning standards of Swedish specification. The surface should be free from moisture, oil, dust and dirt and should be absolutely dry before painting. Removal of loose rust is a must. It can also be applied in diverse areas of tank exteriors, equipments, pipelines, structural steel, etc. Not to be used for immersion application. Physical Data :- COLOUR :- Yellow FINISH :- Matt SOLIDS BY VOLUME :- 40 ± 3% THEORETICAL SPREADING RATE :- 13.33 sq.mt. / ltr. at recommended DFT of 30 µ FLASH POINT :- Base : 23°C Hardener : 23°C DRYING CHARACTERISTICS :- SURFACE DRY : 60 to 90 minutes (At 30°C & 65% Relative Humidity) :- HARD DRY : Overnight. FULL CURE : 7 Days SHELF LIFE :- BASE : 6 months HARDENER : 6 months SURFACE PREPARATION Abrasive blasting to Sa 21/2 Swedish Standards is the best method of surface preparation. In case blasting is not possible, then the surface of steel should be cleaned to St-2/St-3 std. The surface should be absolutely dry, moisture and oil free before primer application Application Data MIXING RATIO :- Base : Hardener (As per our recommendation) APPLICATION :- By Brush / By Conventional Spray / By Airless Spray THINNER :- Epoxy Thinner 190 POT LIFE :- 4 hours min at 30°C RECOMMENDED DFT :- 30 - 40 µ. OVERCOATING INTERVAL :- MIN : 8 Hours MAX : 24 Hours COMPATIBILITY :- Can be over coated with Epoxy, PU, Chlorinated rubber and Oleo-resinous topcoats. Application Method Stir the Base part thoroughly. Mix the base and hardener as per our recommended ratio, by volume. Stir the mix gently to attain homogeneity. Allow the mixture to stand still (maturation) for about 10-15 minutes to initiate the reaction. Add Epoxy Thinner into the mix, if required, depending on application method, and stir gently for few minutes. Strain the paint through Nylon filter cloth and apply uniformly over the surface. All equipments used for above should be properly cleaned. Application : By Brush / By Conventional Spray / By Airless Spray Generally no thinner is required for Brush application; however under adverse environmental conditions about 5% of thinner, by volume, can be added. . Apply evenly in crossed manner, ensuring the uniform application. Use quality brushes for paint application. For Conventional Spray application:- Thinner : Epoxy Thinner 190 Addition : 10-15% Nozzle Orifice : 1.2 1.4 mm Nozzle Pressure : 40 - 70 p.s.i. For Airless Spray Application:- Thinner : Epoxy Thinner 190 Addition : Max 5% Nozzle Orifice : 0.37- 0.42mm Nozzle Pressure : 1400-1800 p.s.i.
Description Two component metallic zinc rich epoxy high performance primer. Recommended Use :- The zinc pigment in dry film renders excellent protection to steel structure, tanks, bullets, dam gates, pipelines, plant equipments, jetty, etc. in both interior and exterior exposed conditions of fertilizer units, chemical plants, steel plants, cement plants, pulp and paper industries, ports, power plants, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry, transformer, machines & other heavy duty OEMs. It also provides cathodic protection to steel and gives good resistance to corrosion at local damaged areas. It is useful in heavy-duty protective paint systems. It is recommended not to expose the primed coat alone to chemical and saline atmosphere for a long time.
