Gherkin: A Gherkin is a variety of cucumber. Gherkins are cooked, eaten raw, or used as pickles. Gherkins are usually picked when 4 to 8 cm (1 to 3 in) in length and pickled in jars or cans with vinegar often flavoured with herbs, particularly dill; hence, dill pickle or brine. Sugar is also a popular addition, in which case the label typically shows Sweet Gherkins. India is the worlds largest exporter of gherkins, shipping 25% of total global gherkin exports. Mostly grown in the southern states of India Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu. With multi-product packing option capability for both fresh and processed packs, whole and cut produce in retail packs (glass jars and PET), foodservice packs (pouch and tins) and industrial packs (drums and pails).
