Magnesite is a magnesium carbonate mineral with the chemical formula MgCO3, named for its magnesium content. It typically forms through the alteration of magnesium-rich or carbonate rocks via metamorphism or chemical weathering. Magnesite is primarily utilized to produce magnesium oxide (MgO), which serves as a refractory material for the steel industry and as a raw material for the chemical industry. Additionally, small amounts of magnesite are used as gemstones and lapidary materials. In its raw form, magnesite appears as white, gray, or brown porous crystals. In its purest form, the mineral contains about 44 to 45 percent magnesium. We can supply magnesite in both raw (bulk) form and in powder (300 mesh) form.
