1. PRODUCT OVERVIEW
VHF finger expansion joint made by Vinh Hung Investment and Production Co., Ltd (VinhHung IP), includes 2 types: Cantilever VHF-C and over-gap
VHF-O, according to:
AASHTO LRFD standards
ASTM D354292 (2003) standards VHFC and VHFO are integrally manufactured with high accuracy finger plates and accessories such as bolts, rubber sheet/water prevention steel
plates which help facilitate new construction and installation as well as inspection and maintenance works in service.
VHFC and VHFO accommodate to medium movement to big movement and can be used for both straight and skew bridges.
2. PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
Totally accommodate to medium and large
longitudinal movements, and also vertical and
transversal movement if any.
Simple installation, maintenance and
replacement, which allows to replace individual
finger plates in short period of time and for each
lane.
High loading resistance capacity, especially the
moving load.
Also available for skew bridges.
Rubber seal system is designed to be totally
water-tight and prevent dust and debris.
Can be designed to be compatible with different
thicknesses of bridge decks.
To ensure the long-lasting durability, VHF finger
expansion joints are protected from corrosion with
methods such as: 2-component epoxy coating, PUbased painting (Polyurethane), hot dip galvanization
according to ASTM A123 standards and especially
the Al Mg spraying method (at the ratio of 5% Al and
95% Mg) which ensures anti-corrosion durability of
up to 100 years, proven by salt-spraying test in 6000
hours (8-hour dry-wet cycle repetition) under ASTM
B117 standards.
