Cloves are one of Indonesia's leading commodities which have high economic value. The uniqueness of cloves is the distinctive aroma produced from the essential oils contained in them. Cloves are widely used as additives in the food, medicine, cosmetics and cigarette industries. Cloves is a tropical flora that can grow in hot areas with a sufficient water supply. Although this plant grows optimally in hot weather, it cannot survive in a long dry season or during a drought.
