Nickel 200 is a wrought commercially pure Nickel with a maximum carbon level of 0.15%. This alloy provides highly ductile mechanical properties across a wide temperature range. It provides corrosion resistance in neutral to moderately reducing environments. Nickel 200 is ferromagnetic. It provides high thermal and electrical conductivity in comparison to nickel-base alloys, stainless and low alloy steels. Nickel 200 is not recommended for service above 600°F (316) because long-time exposures in the 800°F to 1200°F range result in precipitation of a carbon containing phase and loss of ductility.

Nickel 200, also known as UNS N02200, is a commercially pure wrought nickel with a minimum nickel content of 99.6%. It is known for its excellent mechanical properties and resistance to a variety of corrosive environments. Nickel 200 Strips are flat, thin metal pieces cut from Nickel 200 material, providing versatile solutions across various industries.
Nickel 200 strips are highly regarded in various industrial applications due to their exceptional properties. Composed of commercially pure nickel, typically containing around 99.6% nickel content, Nickel 200 strips exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in alkalis, acids, and neutral salt solutions. This makes them ideal for use in chemical processing and storage equipment, where maintaining material integrity in harsh environments is crucial.
Nickel 405 is a variation of Monel 400 with slightly modified chemical composition, featuring higher sulfur content.
The increased sulfur content improves machinability but may slightly reduce the alloy's corrosion resistance compared to Monel 400.
Despite the slight compromise in corrosion resistance, Nickel 405 still offers excellent resistance to marine environments, alkaline solutions, and acidic conditions.
It is often used in applications where improved machinability is desired, such as screw machine parts, fasteners, and valve stems.
Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) and Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) are commercially pure wrought nickel grades with low carbon content. They offer excellent resistance to corrosive environments, particularly alkaline solutions.
