Cedarwood also known as deodar in India originally taken from Sanskrit word Devdaru meaning wood of God.The oil from the tree is extracted from the stumps by steam distillation process. Large stump pieces are cut into small pieces for ease of transportation .These small pieces are then chopped finely so that they can be easily loaded in the steam distillation unit for the extraction of oil.The oil thus obtained has warm,spicy,woody,earthy, distinct cedar note .
Cedar wood Oil Himalyan is distilled from Roots & Stumps of Cedrus Deodara which has been left after cutting of Deodar trees for timber extraction. These stumps and roots are removed in a scientific way. The pits so formed are filled consolidated and due to self sprouting of seeds or planting a sapling new forest has grown up. Crude Oil rectified by giving alkali wash is called Rectified Cedar wood oil. Cedar Wood Oil rich in Himanchalene is called Supper Rectified Oil and the oil rich in Atlantone and higher fraction removing Resin is Called Perfumery Grade. Petitgrain oil is taken from the tree's twigs and leaves and steam distilled to produce a refreshing, floral, and herbaceous essential oil. Whereas, Neroli essential oil is derived from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree, and bitter orange essential oil comes from the rinds of the fruit through the process of expression. The health benefits of petitgrain essential oil can be attributed to its properties as an antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, anti-depressant, deodorant, nervine, and a sedative substance. The chief constituents of this oil are gamma terpineol, geraniol, geranyl acetate, linalool, linalyl acetate, myrcene, neryl acetate and trans ocimene. The refreshing, energizing, and delightfully woody yet floral fragrance of Petitgrain essential oil does not leave any trace of body odor.
