Dadmac (Quaternary Ammonium Monomer) DADMAC is a high purity, aggregated, quaternary ammonium salt and high charge density cationic monomer. Its appearance is colorless and transparent liquid without an irritating smell. DADMAC can be dissolved in water very easily. There is alkenyl double bond in the molecular structure and can form linear homopolymer and all kinds of copolymers by various polymerization reaction. The features of DADMAC are: very stable in normal temperature, unhydrolyzed and noninflammable, low irritation to skins and low toxicity. Use: It can be used as cationic monomer to produce mono-polymer or co-polymers with other monomers. Properties The polymer body contains strong cationic group radical and activated-adsorbent group radical which can destabilize and flocculate the suspended solids and the negative-charged water soluble matters in the waste water through electro-neutralization and bridging adsorption. It is very effective in flocculating, decolouring, killing algae and removing organics. The product enjoys small dosage but can cause big flocs, rapid precipitation and low turbidity residue, and it can also produce small amount of sludge. It is adaptable to wide range of pH value, between 0.5 and 1.4. This product is smelless, tasteless and harmless. It can be widely used to treat source water and sewage water. APPLICATION METHODS When used alone, it should be diluted to the concentration of 0.5%-0.05% (based on solid content). When used to treat different source water or waste water, the dosage is based on the turbidity and the concentration of the water. The most economical dosage is based on the trial. The dosing spot and the mixing velocity should be carefully decided to guarantee that the chemical can be mixed evenly with the construction chemicals and materials in the water and the flocs can not be broken. It is better to dose the product continuously. PACKAGE AND STORAGE 1. It is harmless, no-flammable and non-explosive, it can be stored at room temperature, it can not be placed in the sun. 2. Polyacrylamide is called as PAM for short and it is polymerized by the acrylamide monomer. PAM is a kind of linear water-soluble polymer matter. With different techniques and functional groups, products with different types of charge can be obtained, including the anionic polyacrylamide (APAM), cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM), non polyacrylamide (NPAM) and amphoteric polyacrylamide (ACPAM). The average molecular weight of PAM ranges from thousands to millions and it is the high-molecular electrolyte. It is the white power or granule, and it can be dissolved in the water easily but not the common organic solvents including the benzene, ether, ester, acetone, etc.. The aqueous solution of polyacrylamide is the thick liquid, and it is non-toxic and non-corrosive. The solid PAM is hygroscopic, and the hygroscopicity is improved with the increasing of ionic degree. When the pH is greater than 10, PAM can have the easy hydrolysis. Besides, the effect of thickening will be more obvious when the PAM has the semi-mesh structure.
