Hastelloy fasteners are a combination of elements like nickel, molybdenum, chromium, cobalt, iron, copper, manganese, titanium, zirconium, tungsten, aluminum, and carbon in their composition. Hastelloy fasteners have good resistance to hot acids and excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking. These Hastelloy fasteners are suitable for most water, wastewater, and drinking water applications.

The high nickel alloy present in Hastelloy fasteners is compatible with fluoride salt at the elevated temperatures at which LFTR would operate, where each of these corrosion diagrams was constructed using various corrosion rate values which are generated at different acid concentrations and temperatures. These Hastelloy fasteners have good resistance to corrosion along with good strength.

Hastelloy fasteners are available in various sizes, grades, and scales. Hastelloy C276 fasteners are the most common grade and it is one of the most corrosion-resistant nickel alloys for chemical applications. These fasteners have high performance and can survive in harsh environments.
