A really lovely and solid authentic folk art handbag. Embroidered and appliqued on loose thick handloom linen dyed in a beautiful dark alizarine red with handmade bandhani (tie-dye) work. The embroidery and kantha quilting has been done in running stitch in yellow, pink and beige to create interlaced patterns. Inside of bag is of beige handloom. A rare piece hard to come across these days. Embellished with cowries shells. A wonderful solid bag with many years ahead. This handbagbag is unique and antique.
