Consolidation Apparatus

The direct shear apparatus we offer is designed as per is: 2720 (part-viii), astm d 3080 standards. Direct shear apparatus is extensively used for determining the direct shear strength of soils on specimen size 60mm x 60mm x 25mm. The direct shear apparatus we manufacture is electrically operated to give a 6 rates of strain of 1.25, 0.25, 0.05, 0.01, 0.002 & 0.0004mm/min and is suitable for 230v a.C.

Specifications: the apparatus comprises of the following:

Loading unit:
The loading unit is provided with v strips and roller strips for friction-less movement of shear box housing.
Supplied with load yoke with direct and lever system for applying load.
Normal stress capacity 8kg/sq.Cm. Load is applied either directly or through a counter balanced detachable lever.
Provision is made for the load to be applied either through a steel ball recessed on the pre collaborated loading yoke.

Shear box assembly:
Comprises direct shear box in two halves for a square specimen size 60 x 60 x 25mm one pair of plain gripper plates, one pair of porous stones, one pair of perforated gripper plates, one top loading pad.

Shear box housing:
It accommodates the direct shear box assembly. Complete with two ball roller strips.

Specimen cutter:
Used for cutting 60 x 60 x 25mm specimen from larger samples
Set of weights to give a normal stress of 3kg/sq.Cm. Through leverage as follows.
