As pure formaldehyde is in gas state under high temperature since it boils at -19`c, this substance bears no commercial value as it is. Sufficient amount of methyl alcohol is to be added to formaldehyde solution at this concentration in order to prevent the extraction of polymer. Being quite significant industrial chemical, formaldehyde is used for various uses to produce acetal resin in addition to pentaerythritol and hexarnine. Formaldehyde is very important because it not only has a high chemical reactivity but also is colorlessly stable.
