Potassium tetrafluoroborate - KBF4 (CAS: 14075-53-7) Potassium tetrafluoroborate is a white ionic powder that is hygroscopic and incompatible with oxidizing agents. It is an ionic compound that can be synthesized by reacting potassium hydroxide with boron trifluoride It is used as an active filler in resin-bonded abrasives for metal treatment, as a component in fluxing agents for brazing and soldering, but also as a component in fluxing and grain refining agents for magnesium and aluminium. Potassium tetrafluoroborate is also used as an active filler in the preparation of resin-bonded . Abrasives and for extraction, refining and processing of metals in the chemical industry. In addition, it can be used as additive in alloying industry and welding agent and in the production of fluxing agents for brazing and soldering. It is also being used in synthesizing different organic salts and ionic liquids, which in turn can be used as a green solvent in chemical reactions
