Puttu is a south Indian morning, healthy breakfast. Puttu maker consists of a bowl at bottom and a cylinder on top. Little water is filled in the bowl. A mixture of fried rice powder and coconut is placed in the top cylinder. A strainer is placed in the bottom of the cylinder so as to prevent the mixture from falling down into the bowl. The steam from the boiling water cooks the mixture. The end product is a cylindrical cake.
