Di-ammonium Phosphate popularly known as DAP is a preferred fertilizer in India because it contains both Nitrogen and Phosphorus which are primary macro-nutrients and part of 18 essential plant nutrients. DAP (NH4)2HPO4: Fertilizer grade DAP Contains 18% Nitrogen and 46% Phosphorus (P2O5).
Colorless transparent monoclinic crystal or white powder.The relative density is 1.619. It is soluble in water, but insoluble in alcohol, acetone, ammonia. It will decompose when the temperature was to 155 degree centigrade.

Di Ammonium hydrogen phosphate; chemical formula (NH4)2(HPO4) is one of a series of water-soluble ammonium phosphate salts that can be produced when ammonia reacts with phosphoric acid.Solid diammonium phosphate shows a dissociation pressure of ammonia as given by the following expression and equation:
(NH4)2HPO4(s) NH3(g) + (NH4) H2PO4(s) At 100 �°C, the dissociation pressure of diammonium phosphate is approximately 5 mmHg.
Properties: White granular crystal, relative density at 1.619g/cm3, melting point at 155 ? , easily soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, PH value of 1% solution is 8.0.
Uses: As a fire-prevention agent for fabric, timber and paper. For food grade it is mainly used as a fermentation agent, nourishment, and so on. Used as a high effective non-chloride N, P compound fertilizer in agriculture. It contains totally 74% fertilizer elements, used as a basic raw material for N, P and K compound fertilizer.
