Diatomaceous earth (DE), also known as diatomite, diahydro, kieselguhr, kieselgur and Celite, is a sedimentary rock primarily composed of the fossilized remains of unicellular fresh water plants known as Diatoms. The typical chemical composition of diatomaceous earth is 86% silica, 5% sodium, 3% magnesium and 2% iron. The De has a high porosity, with lower density, larger surface area, strong absorption, good suspending performance, it has relative incompressibility and chemical stability without any poison and smell.
