Silica fume, also known as microsilica, is an amorphous (non-crystalline) polymorph of silicon dioxide, silica. It is an ultrafine powder collected as a by-product during silicon and ferrosilicon alloy production. According to the SiO2 content, our products can arrange form grade 85% to grade 98%. According to the bulk density, we can divide our products into densified silica fume and undensified silica fume.
We can supply densified/undensified microsilica/silica fume product are with minimum SiO2 contents from 85% to 97%.
Good day. We can supply densified/undensified microsilica/silica fume product are with minimum SiO2 contents from 85% to 97%. Packing:1000kg/jumbo bag or as customer required. Attached our company profile and 92D microsilica Datasheets for your reference. while when you are in demand of microsilica, welcome to contact.
Microsilica (silica fume) is a by-product of silicon metal or ferrosilicon industries, is an amorphous silicon dioxide SiO2. This product reacts chemically with the calcium hydroxide in the cement paste which yields a calcium silicate hydrate gel that significantly enhances strength and durability. The super fine microsilica fills the voids between cement particles creating a very dense, less permeable concrete. Physical characteristics: Color: gray or gray white powder Bulk density: 320-700 kg/m3 Chemical composition: Items SiO2 Al2O3 Fe2O3 MgO CaO Na2O Moisture Content 75-98% 1.0-0.2% 0.9-0.3% 0.7-0.1% 0.3-0.1% 1.3-0.2% Fineness: the fineness of the silica fume is less than 1 1/4m, and the average particle size is 0.1 0.3 1/4m, and the specific surface area is 20 - 28 m2/g. The fineness and specific surface area are about 80-100 times of cement and 50-70 times of fly ash. Maxtech Micro Silica supplies will be as per QCS 2014 (ASTM C1240): SiO2: >/= 92% LOI:
Microsilica (silica fume) is a byproduct from silicon metal or ferrosilicon industries,is an amorphous silicon dioxide â?? SiO2 which is generated as a gas in submerged electrical arc furnaces during the reduction of very pure quartz. As the molten metal is produced, a silica-based gas is emitted. This gaseous fume, as it rises, cools rapidly and forms extremely minute,Amorphous, spherical particles. The microsilica is collected in a bag house, a system for filtering the hot air and gases vented from the furnace. This gas vapor is condensed in bag house collectors as very fine powder of spherical particles that average 0.1 to 0.3 microns in diameter with a surface area of 17 to 30 m2/g. Microsilica can be used in concrete and refractory materials. Microsilica ,when used in concrete, it can improve concreteâ??s properties such as compressive strength, bond strength and abrasion resistance, reduces permeability, and therefore helps in protecting reinforcing steel from corrosion. At the same time, Microslica can still be used in the procustion of refractory and porcelain, to raise intensity and durability, it also can be used in paint, coating resin rubber and other high molecular as a filler material to improve the material overall performance.
Silica fume, also known as condensed silica fume or microsilica, is a spherical sub-micron amorphous silicon dioxide used in many applications. Silica fume is a co-product of silicon or ferrosilicon production, consisting of ultrafine (sub-micron), amorphous, non-porous, perfectly spherical silicon dioxide (SiO2) particles, with purity levels of 85 to 99 %. The main effect of these ultra-fine particles is to greatly improve particle packing and produce a highly pozzolanic reaction in concrete and other cementitious bond systems where the silicon dioxide reacts with calcium hydroxide, heightening performance levels and the strength and durability of these materials. Additionally, silica fume, because of its amorphous (non-crystalline) structure and its specific area, provides other useful features to various applications, including improved sintering capabilities and enhanced high temperature performance of refractory castables, resulting in reactions between microsilica and other components of the refractory mix. To summarize, silica fume has two key features which alone or in combination are the basis for its high performance: The nano-sized spherical non-porous particles create an efficient "filler effect" Primary particles have an average diameter of about 0.15 ¼m (150 nanometers) Microsilica is a highly reactive form of silica producing a "chemical effect" Thanks to its amorphous nature and high specific surface area.
