These are the substances, when added to polymers will modify some of the properties of source material. The most common additives include plasticizers, wherein they are used to lessen the glass transition temperature of the polymer which makes it softer, used in the fillers to make it cost effective as in the case of chalks, and used as an oily component to increase the rheology of the product.
