SENS is a contactless wireless thermal screening device which can measure body temperature in less than 5 seconds with a medical accuracy of ±0.2C. It is also capable of data logging where every visitors temperature is logged into the dashboard whenever the device is in use and all this information is accessible on the cloud. Plus, SENS can be integrated with existing biometric systems.

Thermal guns rely on a person handling the device while the device is in use, risking both personnel & visitor on possible chances of transmission of infection. Plus, thermal guns accuracy is usually around ±5C, which as a system is good for machines that tend to overheat, not humans. Again, this is not a device glitch as the device is built for industrial applications, not for fever scanning. Plus, the device performance is affected by the ambient temperature, thereby compromising on the screening aspects.


Thermal imaging as a product might relate to SENS in the purpose of thermal screening, but the technology is completely different from SENS as thermal imaging involves the use of thermal cameras to identify the temperature. This again is left to the person screening visitors to identify fever or high temperature as the device usually will not provide the temperature readings of the person being screened, which gives room for manmade errors and the risks associated with the same. Plus, from a cost perspective, these devices usually start from INR 40K which again offer minimal functionality at compromised results, which is not suitable for businesses or individuals who are price-conscious.
