As a general rule, The purer the sand, the clearer the products

Silicon and oxygen are the earth's two most abundant elements and together they make silica, one of the earths three most common rock forming minerals.

Akshar Minerals Silica sand is high purity natural crystalline silica. It is inherently bright, white, low in moisture and chemically inert in nature. Basically, It is made up of two main element Silica & Oxygen. Silica sand is made up of Silicon Dioxide. There are number of different uses of silica sand in the industrial and commercial sector, from golf courses to glass making .

The chemical formula of Silica Sand is SiO2

Characteristics :
High Purity
Weather Resistant
White Appearance
Naturally Hard
Controlled Particle size
Chemically Inert

Applications
Akshar Minerals Silica sand is used depends on physical, chemical and mechanical characteristics such as grain size, shape color, structure and distribution as well as refractoriness strength and stability. There characteristics can differ depending on how mineral is processed after it is mined. This product gets easily mixed and can be used for high temperature applications like flat glass, furnace tubes and many more due to its excellent thermal expansion, hardness. It yields improved durability and burnish resistance. We make for all type of application in the industries like Glass industries, Sodium Silicate Industry, Golf course & Sport Ground, Adhesive and sealant, Rubber industry, Texture Wall Paint, Sand Blasting, Agro pesticide, Cosmetic industry, Soap & Detergent, Filtration Media, Power Plant & Petroleum, Construction Chemical Industry, Plastic, Fertilizer, Paint, Ceramic, Insulation, Foundry, Ramming Mass, Steel Industry, Landscaping, GRC & GRP Industry, Oil & Petroleum Industry, Oil Exploration & Oil Drilling.

Natural Silica (chemical name for the mineral quartz and a synonym for silicon dioxide) Silica is a compound of the elements silicon and oxygen. It is not chemically combined with other elements. When the basic structure of the molecule is a pattern that is repeated and symmetrical, the silica is considered to be "crystalline." Silica is considered to be amorphous if the molecule lacks crystalline structure. In this brochure, the term silica is used to mean crystalline silica (or crystalline silica's most common form, quartz).

Used in manufacture of special steels and cast iron, aluminum alloys, glass and refractory materials, ceramics, abrasives, water filtration, component of hydraulic cements, filler in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, paper, insecticides, rubber reinforcing agent - especially for high adhesion to textiles, anti-caking agent in foods, flatting agent in paints, thermal insulator. Fused silica is used as an ablative material in rocket engines, spacecraft, silica fibers used in reinforced plastics.

Available in Micro silica, Fused Silica, Amorphous Silica, Precipitated silica, Quartz powder different mesh sizes and fine powder as per requirement.

Packing: Standard 25kg. HDPE wove sack or paper bag.

25kg, 50kg, 980kgs.Junbo packs.

Silica sand, also known as quartz sand, is composed mainly of silicon dioxide (SiO). It is a naturally occurring mineral that is commonly used in a variety of industries due to its properties like durability, high melting point, and resistance to weathering. Here are some common uses and facts about silica sand:

Common Uses:
Glass Manufacturing: Silica sand is a primary raw material in the production of glass, including container glass, flat glass, and specialty glass.
Construction: It is used in concrete, mortar, and other construction materials, as well as for sandblasting.
Foundries: Silica sand is used in foundry molds and cores for casting metal parts.
Water Filtration: The sand is used in water filtration systems because of its ability to trap contaminants.
Oil & Gas Industry: It is used in hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to prop open fractures in shale rock to extract oil and natural gas.
Sports & Leisure: Silica sand is used in products like sandboxes, golf course bunkers, and artificial turf.
Properties:
Hardness: Silica sand is known for its hardness, typically ranking around 7 on the Mohs scale, which makes it useful for many industrial applications.
Grain Size: The grain size of silica sand varies, with smaller grains being used for things like glass and larger grains being used for sandblasting or filtration.
Color: It can vary in color, from white to tan or even pink, depending on impurities and iron content.
