Dimethyl carbonate is abbreviated as DMC. At room temperature, it is a colorless, transparent, pungent odorous liquid. It can be mixed with almost all organic solvents such as alcohol, and ester in any ratio, and is slightly soluble in water. Can be used as a methylating agent.
