Each oxygen atoms are confined between two carbon atoms and exhibits a conformation with a hole (accordingly called "crown"). The common names of Crown Ethers have a prefix to designate the total number of atoms in the cycle and a suffix to designate the number of oxygen atoms in the cycle. For example, 15-crown-5 is composed of 15 atoms in the cycle, 5 of which are O and 10 of which are C. As an ether, crown ethers are soluble in non-polar solvents. They are capable of strong solvency binding cations in their central cavity. The exterior of the ring is hydrophobic. The size of the interior central cavity, fused ring system, and side chains and functional groups determine the solvency capacity of the cation and the power of hydrophobic. Formic acid is a kind of organic matter, chemical formula is HCOOH, molecular weight 46.03, common name formic acid, is the simplest carboxylic acid. A colorless liquid with a pungent odor. Formic acid is a weak electrolyte, but its aqueous solution is weak acid and corrosive, can stimulate skin blistering. It is commonly found in the secretions of bees, some ants and caterpillars. It is an organic chemical material, also used as a disinfectant and preservative. Product usage Used for production of chemical products, rubber coagulant, and used in textile, printing, electroplating, etc. Formic acid one of the organic chemical raw materials and extensively used in pesticide, leather, pharmaceutical, rubber, printing, chemical raw material and other industries.
Supplier: Phase transfer catalyst, speciality chemicals & drug intermediates, 18-crown-6, dibenzo-18-crown-6, 15-crown-5, 3-bromopropionic acid, indole-3-carbinol, indole-3-carboxaldehyde
Formic acid, the simple carboxylic acid is a colorless liquid. A major use of Formic Acid, is as a preservative and antibacterial agent in livestock feed. It is also used for decalcifier; reducer in dyeing for wool fast colours; dehairing and plumping hides; tanning; electroplating; coagulating rubber latex; silage and grain preservation; additive in regenerating old rubber; solvents of perfume; lacquers; alkylating agent for alcohols; carboxylating agent for tertiary compounds. Its used in water treatment and dyeing and finishing paper, also in the production of fumigants and refrigerants. It is also used as an intermediate for the production of a wide variety of products in the chemicals and pharmaceutical industries.
