Mineral oil, also known as liquid paraffin, is a naturally-derived odorless, colorless oily liquid. This variety of Mineral Oil 70 USP represents the most refined, purest grade with a low viscosity. Mineral oil in cosmetics may help prevent moisture loss and rejuvenate oneâ??s skin due to its natural emollient properties, making this a very common ingredient in topical personal-care products such as ointments, creams, sunscreen and lip care. Solubility
Insoluble in water and in alcohol, soluble in volatile oils. Miscible with most fixed oils but not with castor oil.

The absorbance of sample solution at any wavelength in the range 260 to 350 nm should not be more than one third of the absorbance of standard solution at 275 nm.
