Kalmegh scientifically known as Andrographis paniculata belongs to the family Acanthaceae. Green chiretta and creat are the other common names of Andrographis. It is an annual herbaceous plant, native to India, Sri Lanka and is widely cultivated in Southern and Southeastern Asia.
