Microsilica (silica fume) is a by-product of silicon metal or ferrosilicon industries, is an amorphous silicon dioxide SiO2. This product reacts chemically with the calcium hydroxide in the cement paste which yields a calcium silicate hydrate gel that significantly enhances strength and durability. The super fine microsilica fills the voids between cement particles creating a very dense, less permeable concrete.

Features Of Micro Silica (Silica Fume) Micro Silica also known as Silica fume. It is a by product of producing silicon metal or ferrosilicon alloys in smelter using electric arc furnaces. It is a grey coloured powder, pozzolanic in nature. Applications Concrete Industry Refractory Rubber Industry Anti caking agent Pellet Binder
Microsilica, also known as silica fume, it is a very fine pozzolanic material, composed of amorphous silica produced byelectric arc furnaces as a byproduct of the production of elemental silicon or ferro silicon alloys.Microsilica can be used in a variety of cementitious products such as concrete, grouts, and mortars as well as elastomer, polymer, refractory, ceramic and rubber applications. Silica fume is widely used in concrete field: High-performance project, such as bridge, airport, hydropowder station, seawall, railway projects. 1)Enhance the mechanical properties of concrete. High strength and early strength has been used in substructures of high-performance concrete. 2)Improve the durability of concrete: Significant improvements can be seen in the permeability resistance, abrasion resistance, anti-corrosion against chlorideion and anti-freezing of concrete. 3)Enhance consructability. Improve shotconrete, increase easly strength, control temperature contractors can take advantage of the properties of silica fume concrete to expedite projects or to achieve properties that migh otherwise be impossible to achieve.
Silica fume, also known as condensed silica fume or microsilica, is a spherical sub-micron amorphous silicon dioxide used in many applications. Silica fume is a co-product of silicon or ferrosilicon production, consisting of ultrafine (sub-micron), amorphous, non-porous, perfectly spherical silicon dioxide (SiO2) particles, with purity levels of 85 to 99 %. The main effect of these ultra-fine particles is to greatly improve particle packing and produce a highly pozzolanic reaction in concrete and other cementitious bond systems where the silicon dioxide reacts with calcium hydroxide, heightening performance levels and the strength and durability of these materials. Additionally, silica fume, because of its amorphous (non-crystalline) structure and its specific area, provides other useful features to various applications, including improved sintering capabilities and enhanced high temperature performance of refractory castables, resulting in reactions between microsilica and other components of the refractory mix. To summarize, silica fume has two key features which alone or in combination are the basis for its high performance: The nano-sized spherical non-porous particles create an efficient "filler effect" Primary particles have an average diameter of about 0.15 ¼m (150 nanometers) Microsilica is a highly reactive form of silica producing a "chemical effect" Thanks to its amorphous nature and high specific surface area.
Micro Silica Sand: Micro silica also known as fume, is an amorphous (non-crystalline) polymorph of silicon dioxide, silica. It is an ultrafine powder collected as a by-product of the silicon and ferrosilicon alloy production and consists of spherical particles with an average particle diameter of 150 mm. The main field of application is as pozzolanic for high performance concrete because of its extreme fineness and high silica. Applications : Silica is added to Portland cement concrete to improve its properties, in particular its compressive strength, bond strength, and abrasion resistance. These improvements stem from both the mechanical improvements resulting from addition of a very fine powder to the cement paste mix as well as from the pozzolanic reactions between the silica fume and free calcium hydroxide in the paste. Advantages : Addition of silica also reduces the permeability of concrete to chloride ions, which protects the reinforcing steel of concrete from corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments such as coastal regions and those of humid continental roadways and runways (because of the use of deicing salts) and saltwater bridges.

Silica is mainly used as a carrier of agricultural chemicals. Finely crushed silica powder is coated with agricultural chemicals and sold on the market for agricultural use. Silica itself has no effects; it merely serves as a carrier, and so can be dispersed without affecting the farmland, which makes it advantageous as a core material. It's used as Fire-resistant product powder, Agricultural chemical carrier, Agricultural chemical carrier, Construction board
