Introduction Name:Ammonium Sulphate CAS No.:7783-20-2 Formula:(NH4)2SO4 Apperance:Crystal N:21% S:24% Application Ammonium sulfate plays a beneficial role in neutral electroplating (electroplating except for strong acid and alkali), such as stabilizing bath solution,refining coating crystallization,and preventing coating brittleness. 1.Auxiliary complexation Ammonium sulfate actually plays an auxiliary role in the cathodic process as a bridge for the smooth deposition of metals. 2.PH buffer As a result of hydrogen evolution in the cathode process,the pH value of the cathode surface increases continuously. Therefore, pH buffer must be added to all neutral electroplating tanks. These buffers, such as boric acid, acetate and other weak acid and weak base salts, usually complete the buffering function because the ionized H+ions migrate to the cathode surface and neutralize the OH- ions increased due to H2 evolution, generating water that is difficult to ionize. In addition to completing this function, ammonium sulfate also complexed the free metal M2+ion, so as to improve the polarization of the metal ion on the cathode and refine the crystal structure. 3.Conductivity of reactor fluid Ammonium sulfate has good conductivity. Its addition will effectively expand the application range of cathode current density and improve the dispersion ability of the bath.
