We are manufacture bio fertilizer in my own firm.In summary, vermicompost is a valuable resource for enhancing soil fertility, promoting healthy plant growth, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices, while also offering significant environmental and economic benefits.
Gather organic waste materials such as vegetable scraps, fruit peels, kitchen waste, farm residue, and garden clippings.
Ensure the waste is free from non-organic materials like plastic, glass, and metals
The production of vermicompost begins with the preparation of bedding material, such as straw, dry leaves, sawdust, or coconut coir, which is shredded and soaked in water for about 24 hours. Selected earthworm species like Eisenia fetida (Red Wigglers) and Lumbricus rubellus are introduced into a container with good drainage and aeration, filled with the moist bedding material. Organic waste, including kitchen scraps and garden waste, is added in small amounts, mixed with the bedding, avoiding meat, dairy, oily foods, and citrus peels. The compost is maintained by keeping the bedding moist, aerating it by turning every few weeks, and regularly adding small amounts of organic waste. After 2-3 months, the vermicompost is harvested by moving the contents.
