Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia) or kemeli is a plant that produces vanilla powder which is usually used as an ingredient to add aroma or fragrance to food. This powder is produced from fruit-shaped vanilla pods. The vanilla plant was first known by Indians in Mexico, the country of origin of the plant. The regional name for vanilla is Panili or Perneli. Vanilla can be produced in two ways, namely generative and vegetative reproduction.
