Black silicon carbide is produced at high temperature in an electric resistance type furnace with quartz sand and petroleum coke as its main raw materials. Black silicon carbide is fragile and sharp, and has certain electrical and thermal conductivity. It have been used for processing glass,refractory materials,ceramic,stone,cast iron and other metal.
