Uses: 1. Food flavors: it can be used for cooked meat products, baked goods, candy, alcohol, carbonated beverages and tobacco. The anise ether with content of 85% - 95% in the oil can be synthesized by oxidation to anisaldehyde, anise etc., taste in spicy, which is a fine essence for preparation of cosmetics, food and drinking, as well as the main raw material for compound female hormone hexanestrol in medical industry.
2. Medicine:
1) antibacterial function: the experiment in vitro shows that alcohol extract has bacteriostatic action for gram-positive bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus, pneumococcus, corynebacterium diphtheria, which is similar with benzylpenicillin potassium in 20unit/ml, in addition, its bacteriostatic action for gram-negative bacteria including bacillus subtilis, escherichia coli, vibrio cholerae and salmonella, paratyphoid and dysentery bacillus, similar with streptomycin sulphate in 50 unit/ml. Its bacteriostatic action for fungus, compared with benzoic acid and salicylic acid, is stronger than that of benzoic acid and salicylic acid with concentration of 1% .
2) antihistamine effect: alcohol extract with 1:50 has an antihistamine effect on isolated guinea pig trachea, presenting quick, strong and durable effect.
