Soft Annealing: Heat to 780-810°C, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 240.

Stress Relieving: Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 650°C, holding for one hour at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.

Hardening: Harden from a temperature of 1080-1160°C followed by air, oil or warm bath quenching. Hardness after quenching is 47-53 HRC.

Application: Die Steel H21/SKD5/1.2581 is for making punch and die under high temperature and stress without shock load,high temperature thermal cut pieces
Suitable for making of aluminum, zinc and copper alloy extrusion dies, casting dies and hot shearing blades, etc
Small silver polish steel (scaled and cold drawn), which is an ideal material for ejection pins and sleeves.
Also suitable for manufacture of plastic molds of high productiveity and long service life.
