Comprised of chrome, molybdenum, vanadium and silicon for hardening in oil and air, 1.2344 Tool Steel has a good hardenability (the steel is hardened throughout the cross-section to a diameter of 150mm), it maintains its firmness during the heating process and it is resistant to tempering and wear. It is suitable for the heat treatment and also for firmness over 1765 N/mm2 and for tools cooled by water. It is well-workable during the heating process and also well-workable in the soft-annealed state.
