This sculpture made totally from brass and had detailed carving on the tree. The tree is named “bodhi” which is also called bo and is a very huge, ancient and sacred fig tree. The spiritual teacher who was earlier known as siddhartha gautama is said to have attained enlightenment after meditating under this tree. After achieving “bhodhi” or enlightenment he was called gautama buddha.
This sculpture represents bhuddha and the bhodhi tree as per religious iconography in which buddha is sitting in cross legged position and the bhodhi tree has big heart shaped leaves that are notably displayed. Buddha’s one hand is placed on his lap while in the other hand; the index finger and thumb are joined to form a circle. This formation is known as dharmachakra mudra which symbolises the most significant moments of buddha’s life.
This is one of a kind sculpture and is built to perfection to give a sophisticated charm to your drawing room with its golden tinge and sheen.
