ATMP is an organophosphonate compound exhibits diverse properties like chelation, dispersion and threshold inhibition of cation. Apart from above properties of the most important properties of ATMP is threshold inhibition wherein scale forming cation such as calcium are prevented from precipitating at sub-stoichiometric concentration. Applications - 1. ATMP function as excellent calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate scale inhibitor etc. 2. Washing processes: Dispersing of impurities, increasing the detergency power of surfactants. 3. Preventing of precipitations caused by calcium and magnesium hardness. 4. Demineralizing - Reduction of the calcium and magnesium hardness on the grey goods by 70-80%. 5. Removal of heavy metals. 6. This property enables in use in various water treatment system such as circulating cooling water system in power plant, oil refinery plant, reverse osmosis and oilfield refill water system.
