In making briquettes, 2.5% starch adhesive is used which is cold pressed at a pressure of 3.125 tonnes. The research results showed that compared to briquettes made from 100% sawdust charcoal, the addition of coconut shell charcoal was able to increase the density, compressive strength and calorific value. Overall the density value of charcoal briquettes ranged from 0.45-0.59 g/cm3, compressive strength 4.67-6.72 kg/cm2, water content 3.51-4.75%, volatile matter content 22.18-25.77. ash content 3.56-4.23%, bound carbon content 70.28-73.82% and calorific value ranging from 6,198.99-6,522.84 cal/g
