Margarine is a spread that is most often used as a substitute for butter. It is intended for flavoring, baking and cooking. Most margarine today is made from vegetable oils, as opposed to how it was originally made from animal fats. It is multipurpose with an excellent melting point (ranging from 36 deg C to 52 deg C).
