A tactile membrane switch embeds a metal dome or a poly dome within the switch assembly to produce the appropriate tactile response. These domes can be made of conductive materials and sizes, which allows you to alter the actuation force, when turning on the switch. A second adhesive layer known as the dome retainer is applied beneath the graphic overlay to hold the crown in place.
