Palm oil is a vegetable oil obtained from the fruit mesocarp of oil palm trees, generally from the species Elaeis guineensis, and a little from the species Elaeis oleifera and Attalea maripa. Palm oil is naturally red due to its high content of alpha and beta-carotene oids.
