Clove (Syzygium aromaticum)is a spice plant that has long been used in the clove cigarette industry, food, beverage and medicine. Clove is a spice shaped like the immature flower buds of a tropical tree. its shape resembles a small nail, with a tapered stem. The large end of the clove is a four- pointed flower bud. Cloves are commonly used to give flavor and aroma. Cloves grown in the South Sulawesi area are Zanzibar cloves because Zanzibar Cloves are one of the high-yielding clove varieties that are in great demand and are known as the best clove varieties in the world. As a tropical country and the origin of cloves, Indonesia has a high potential for clove production. Clove production in South Sulawesi is the second largest in Indonesia based on Directorate General of Plantations, Ministry of Agriculture, Republic Indonesia. The product is not only seen from the quantity but also the quality.
