One of the most important components in the entire investment casting cycle is the preparation of the wax pattern. The precision of the casting is dependent on the precision of the wax pattern. Wax when used for expendable models in investment casting suffers from a number of defects, and by far the most important is the shrinkage, causing distortion of the patterns to take place on thick sections. To overcome this organic fillers are used which are expensive and difficult to remove in the recovery of wax post the pattern making. Onsite Water in Wax emulsification system with successful emulsification of upto 40% water with wax along with the emulsifier.Processed wax (62% wax, 35% water, 3% Emulsifier) gives a pattern wax with the required consistency. Emulsified wax has improved properties for forming the pattern by injection moulding, 1. Greatly improves the flow-ability of the wax 2. Decreases the shrinkage and subsequent distortion in the patterns 3. Improves the rigidity of the pattern for easier handling for further processing 4. Eliminates the need for expensive organic fillers 5. Improves the wax recovery during the mould sintering 6. Reduces wax losses in filler removal 7. Reduces the casting rejections due to filler entrapment in the moulds Advantages of Water in Wax emulsification system 1. Compact skid mounted onsite water in wax emulsification system 2. Highly cost effective with low power consumption and cost of emulsification 3. Inorganic ash less emulsifier reduces the loss of wax during recovery 4. Facilitates the emulsification of upto 40%water with wax for pattern making - giving user the flexibility to control the water emulsified depending on the pattern requirement
