Beryllium Oxide (BeO), also known as Beryllia, is a ceramic material typically associated with applications that require high levels of heat dissipation. BeO's thermal conductivity at room temperature is approximately 10 times that of Aluminum ceramics. Beryllium Oxide is second only to Diamond among insulating materials. BeO has a low Dielectric constant (6.76) and a low dielectric loss tangent, permitting improved circuit performance at high frequencies. Beryllium Oxide has a Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) of 9.0 which is intermediate compared to silicon or gallium arsenide and metals. BeO standard sizes available: 4.5" x 4.5" square to 1.00" x 1.00" square in thickness from .010" thru .080" Custom sizes are available upon request. Centerline provides diameters and other configurations per your specifications. BeO ceramic Technical Data, Specifications are offered as assistance to Engineers and Purchasing professionals in the design and procurement of thin and thick film circuit substrates.
