t is a moderate sized tree growing up to 1400 m. altitude Leaves are subsessile, very small of 1 cm. size and simple but its branches are mistaken for the pinnate leaf. Flowers- are greenish-yellow in color and solitary. The fruit is a berry globose yellow and 6- lobed and contains 6 trigonous seeds. Amla extract is an herbal product taken from a tree that grows naturally in India and the Middle East. The amla fruit itself is almost perfectly spherical. Its a light green-yellow color and smooth and hard to the touch. There are six vertical stripes down the sides of the fruit.
