Axial expansion joints are designed to compensate axial movements (extension and compression) in its longitudinal axial direction due to thermal expansions and absorb the mechanical vibrations and reduce sound on pipe line systems (pumps, compressors, fans). The standard expansion values of axial expansion joints (metal bellow expansion joints) are 30 mm and 60 mm. Upon customer request special expansion values and sizes will designed and produced. If smoothness is needed or if high frequency vibrations or turbulence are expected in the flow media Axial Expansion Joints (Metal Bellow Expansion Joints) should be used with Liner. Liner material also can able to eliminate resonance caused by the fluid passing trough the bellows and minimize the contact surface of the fluid. Contact surface of the expansion joint can be minimized by using axial expansion joints with liner.
