Manganese oxide is an oxide with the molecular formula MnO. It is a gray green powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in acid. Used as a catalyst, feed adjuvant, trace element fertilizer, and also in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, smelting, welding, and dry batteries. It can be obtained by thermal reduction of pyrolusite.
