Cirius1 Infrared Sensor for Hydrocarbons Description and Operation
The Cirius range of sensors use the non-dispersive infrared method to detect the presence of gases. The sensors contain an infrared radiation source, a dual element infrared detector and a patented optical arrangement into which gas diffuses. The dual element infrared detector responds to changes in incident radiation and to operate he sensor the infrared source should be pulsed with a duty cycle of 50% at a frequency typically between 2Hz and 4Hz. The sensor produces outputs for active wavelengths, which are modified by the presence of target gas, and for reference wavelengths, which are not modified by the presence of target gas. These outputs consist of a small AC signal in sympathy with the source pulse that is superimposed on a DC voltage pedestal. The sensor also provides a measure of internal temperature via an embedded thermistor. The sensor requires a voltage supply to operate the infrared detector and the connections to the sensor follow the industry standard 7 pin format.
To operate the sensor it must be connected to a suitable circuit that provides the source drive and extracts the small AC signals from the DC voltage pedestal. The circuit must amplify the small AC signals, extract a value from them and treat the results to provide a linear output related to gas concentration. The temperature output from the sensor should be used to apply temperature compensation in order to achieve the full performance specification.

SULFUR GRANULES SULPHUR LUMPS
Sulfur is one of the most important agricultural and industrial raw materials and is considered a strategic product sulfur is an odourless, tasteless and polyvalent nonmetal which is mostly in the form of yellow crystals and is obtained from sulphide and sulphate. Sulphur occurs naturally in the environment and is the thirteenth most abundant element in the earthâ??s crust. It can be mined in its elemental form, although this method has declined over the last decade to less than 2% of world production. Today most elemental sulphur is obtained as a co-product recovered from oil and gas production in sweetening process.
Sulphur is the primary source in the production of sulphuric acid, the world's most widely used chemical. Sulphuric acid is an essential intermediate in many processes in the chemical and manufacturing industries. Sulphuric acid also is used by the fertilizer industry to manufacture primarily phosphates, nitrogen, potassium, and sulphate fertilizers.
Sulfur reacts directly with methane to give carbon disulfide, used to manufacture cellophane and rayon. One of the direct uses of sulfur is in vulcanization of rubber, where polysulfide chains crosslink organic polymers. Large quantities of sulfites are used to bleach paper and to preserve dried fruit. Many surfactants and detergents (e.g. sodium lauryl sulfate) are sulfate derivatives. Calcium sulfate, gypsum, is mined on the scale of 100 million tonnes each year for use in Portland cement and fertilizers. Sulphur is increasingly used as a component of fertilizers. Sulfur can be used in agriculture and various industries such as plastics and many synthetic products, paper, paint, etc.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid state, at about -260° Fahrenheit, for shipping and storage. The volume of natural gas in its liquid state is about 600 times smaller than its volume in its gaseous state. Liquefied natural gas primarily consists of methane (approximately 95% composition). The process of deep refrigeration (approximately -162oC) is used to liquefy natural gas into LNG, making it easier to store and transfer to the point of use. In various regions of the world, LNG is currently recognized as a clean and environmentally friendly fuel, widely utilized.
liquefied natural gas LNG natural gas primarily methane that has been liquefied for ease of storing and transporting Liquefied natural gas LNG is 600 times smaller than natural gas when the latter is in its gaseous form and it can be easily shipped overseas LNG is produced by cooling natural gas below its boiling point 162 C 259 F and is stored in doublewalled cryogenic containers at or slightly above atmospheric pressure It can be converted back to its gaseous form by simply raising the temperature
Natural gas is a hydrocarbon mixture consisting primarily of saturated light paraffins such as methane and ethane both of which are gaseous under atmospheric conditions The mixture also may contain other hydrocarbons such as propane butane pentane and hexane In natural gas reservoirs even the heavier hydrocarbons occur for the most part in gaseous form because of the higher pressures They usually liquefy at the surface at atmospheric pressure and are produced separately as natural gas liquids NGLs either in field separators or in gas processing plants Once separated from the gas stream the NGLs can be further separated into fractions ranging from the heaviest condensates hexanes pentanes and butanes through liquefied petroleum gas LPG essentially butane and propane to ethane This source of light hydrocarbons is especially prominent in the United States where natural gas processing provides a major portion of the ethane feedstock for olefin manufacture and the LPG for heating and commercial purposes

Description
The ngm2611 is a pre-calibrated module for natural gas alarms which is precisely
Calibrated in figaro's humidity and temperature controlled facility.
The most important process in manufacturing reliable resdential gas alarms is
Adjusting the alarm point. Calibration is a complicated and time consuming
Process which also requires a substantial investment in calibration equipment. By
Eliminating the costly calibration process, this module enables users to easily and
Simply manufacture residential natural gas alarms. Figaro has taken the complexity
Out of designing a gas detector circuit by providing users with a temperature
Compensation circuit which combines a built-in thermistor and individually adjusted
Load resistor together with figaro’s low power methane gas sensor.
A connector allows easy replacement of the module for the purpose of periodic
Sensor renewal. This input/output connector enables easy installation of the
Module into the gas detectors’ mother board. This same mother board can be
Used for both methane and lpg gas detectors by simply changing the module.
This module is designed to meet the performance requirements of en50194, and ul1484.
