Granular activated carbons are made from rigid raw materials, giving the necessary hardness to avoid excessive losses due to attrition and handling. They present large internal surface of pore structure, ensuring high adsorption power in specific purposes and uses. They are used in fixed or moving beds as columns where the liquid or gas passes through and gets purified. They can be used in liquid or gas phase continous adsorption process and offer unusual economy in cases where carbon regeneration is favorable. In liquid phase applications they remove colloids and organic substances that give undesirable odors, colors and taste to the products. They are efficiently used for water dechlorination in processes which require super chlorination as well as the removal of organic substances from the water. In vapor phase application they participate in the solvent recovery, adsorption of colors, purification of carbon di-oxide and catalyst support. They are also used to reduce the COD and BOD in effluent waste water. Granular activated carbon is produced from coconut shell charcoal by the process of steam activation. The coconut shell charcoal is fed into the rotary kiln and activated by steam at high temperatures resulting in the evaporation of impurities and opening up of pores on the surface. The resultant big particles are then crushed and sieved to get the desired particle size. Our main grades of granular activated carbon are given as under. We can customize the iodine value as well as the particle size according to your requirements
Our Powder activated carbon is manufactured using pure pine wood which is an excellent base for manufacturing activated carbons with good adsorption power. The steam activated process is done by activating the charcoal in a rotary kiln by heating at high temperatures by steam. The activated carbon that comes out from the kiln is called unwashed activated carbon. These unwashed activated carbon has higher ash and iron content. This is reduced by washing the unwashed activated carbon with acid (HCl / H2SO4) and purified water. This results in reduction of ash content to as low as 1% and iron as low as 50 ppm. The gradation of different qualities of activated carbon is done on the basis of Methylene blue value and iodine value. The iodine value is a better test as the particle size of iodine molecule is small enough to penetrate the smallest of pores. We can relate the iodine value of activated carbon directly to its surface area because of the above fact.
Raw Activated Carbon Powder can be used for all liquid phase filtration applications. It is commonly used to filter chloramines and organic compounds, including pesticides and herbicides, from drinking water. Additional applications include: * Pharmaceutical * Oil & Gas * Drinking water treatment * Groundwater remediation * Wastewater treatment * Pulp & Paper * Brewery & Winery * Dechlorination/chloramine reduction * Removal of organic contaminants * Taste and odor reduction * Disinfection-by-product (DBP) removal
Among its numerous sources, coconut shells have gained significant attention as a sustainable and efficient raw material for producing high-quality activated carbon. Coconut shell-based steam-activated Carbon is mainly used for the removal of chlorine, organic contaminants, color and odor from drinking water to make it suitable for human consumption. Being microporous in internal structure, coconut shell activated carbon is well suited for organic chemical adsorption, including volatile organic chemicals. - One of the prominent applications of coconut shell-based activated carbon is in water treatment processes. It effectively removes impurities, organic contaminants, and heavy metals, ensuring clean and safe drinking water. - It acts as a decolorizing agent, removing impurities and unwanted odors from edible oils, beverages, and food products finding its application in the food and beverage industry. Additionally, it is employed in the purification of sugar syrups, ensuring high-quality and clear syrup for various confectionery and beverage manufacturing processes. - It serves as an excellent adsorbent in the production of drugs, where it eliminates unwanted impurities, colorants, and traces of heavy metals making it ideal choice in pharmaceutical industry too. The high purity and porosity of coconut shell-based activated carbon make it a preferred choice for pharmaceutical manufacturers to ensure product quality and safety.
IRON REMOVAL BLOCK - Iron is one of the major problem in ground water of many areas in India. Excessive levels of iron above 0.3 mg/l in water, may lead to many problems in usage and also adverse health effects. Iron will be in the form of Fe2+, Fe3+ and as few more other compounds in dissolved state in water. Iron imparts color in water if it is excessive, which leads to aesthetic effects in water. If it is used for laundry application, affects the color of the white fabric. Size & Diameter can be customised as per buyer's requirement.
(Color Taste Odor Removal) - We are leading exporter of Activated Carbon Blocks, made from high Surface Area, low ash coconut based Activated Carbon with high adsorption efficiency and contaminant removal capacity. The CTO Blcks have high adsorptive capacity that simultaneously removes chlorine, bad taste, odor and organic chemicals that contribute to bad taste. They are suitable for use as Pre and Post Reverse Osmosis Systems in CTO BLOCKS (Color Taste Odor Removal) residential and commercial water purification. Size & Diameter can be customised as per buyer's requirement.
CHM REMOVAL BLOCK (Heavy Metal Removal) - Heavy metal (HM) is any metallic chemical element are highly toxic for both animals and human beings, and can be bio-accumulated through biological chains and are non-biodegradable and persistent. Their toxicity may occur due to industrial emission that contaminates waterways, nearby streams and rivers, contamination of irrigation water, the application of fertilizer and metal-based pesticides, harvesting process, transportation, storage, or sale. Elements, such as Cadmium and Chromium, are considered carcinogenic, while Iron, Copper, Manganese, Zinc, and Nickel are considered essential trace elements. Arsenic is also another heavy metal which is available in almost 70% bore well water. Therefore, it is essential to purify the water to make it potable. The conventional methods for heavy metal removal from waste water which includes chemical precipitation, reverse osmosis, and solvent extraction are expensive. Adsorption on adsorbent such as active carbon or modified active carbon is an alternative method, because it is cost effective and simple to design. Size & Diameter can be customised as per buyer's requirement.

Activated carbon, also known as activated charcoal, is a highly porous form of carbon with a large surface area. It is created by processing carbon-rich materials, such as coconut shells, wood, or coal, at high temperatures to activate their adsorption properties. Activated carbon is widely used for adsorption and purification processes, including water treatment, air purification, and removal of contaminants from gases and liquids. It is known for its ability to adsorb a wide range of impurities, including toxins, pollutants, and odors.

Activated carbon is a highly porous substance that attracts and holds organic chemicals inside it. It is a widespread adsorption media used in almost every industrial field. It is used in different applications such as purification (such as gas and water purification), recovery, decolorization, deodorization, separation, catalysis, catalytic support, and gas storage. We offer a wide range of industry-leading activated carbon solutions, each with its own uses and applications, in three major product groups: Powdered activated carbon (PAC) Granular activated carbon (GAC) Extruded activated carbon(EAC)
Activated carbon is produced from carbonaceous source materials, such as coconuts, nutshells, coal, peat and wood. The primary raw material used for activated carbon is any organic material with a high carbon content. Activated carbon is used to purify liquids and gases in a variety of applications, including municipal drinking water, food and beverage processing, odor removal, industrial pollution control. Adsorption is a process where a solid is used for removing a soluble substance from the water. Activated carbon is produced specifically so as to achieve a very big internal surface (between 500 - 1500 m2/g). This big internal surface makes active carbon ideal for adsorption. Active carbon comes in three variations: Powder Activated Carbon (PAC), Pelletized Activated Carbon (EAC), and Granular Activated Carbon (GAC).
